KMVT 15 Silicon Valley Community Media in Mountain View offersCamps, Youth tours and Afterschool Programs in Studio Production, Advanced Studio Production and Claymation for Middle school students ages 10-14.

 

Camps

Camps are 1-week long and held every winter break, spring break and summer. Register for a fun and hands-on camp that gets you behind the scenes!

 

To secure a spot in our youth camps, payment can be made in the following ways:
- PayPal or credit card after you register
- By cash, check or credit card in person at our station

**Classes may be subject to cancellation based on the number of participants registered.**

Youth Tours

We provide tours for groups of youth that want to learn more about video production or for those looking to earn their journalism badges for scouts. The Tour includes an overview of the station and an opportunity for the students to get in front of the camera and create a PSA! Call us for more info or email Christina Hagan at chagan@kmvt15.org. Intro to Studio Production

Students ages 10-14

Each year KMVT 15 offers 14 weeks of camps for students ages 10-14. Our one-week Intro to Studio Production Camp sessions introduce youth to media production through hands-on experience. Students use KMVT 15’s industry-standard professional studio equipment to gain basic skills in camera work, directing, sound design, acting and producing. By the end of the week, students produce segments which will broadcast on cable Channel 15! Students each receive a DVD copy of the program they produce. The TV station provides all equipment. Claymation

Students ages 10-14

Students will learn Clay Animation using the same stop-motion techniques of the Wallace & Gromit films, Chicken Run and your other favorite Claymation movies. Collaborating in small groups, students will conceptualize, mold, animate and edit a Claymation final project. Camp held at KMVT studio. (Bring a sack lunch & drink!) Advanced Studio Production

Prerequisite: Intro to Studio Production

Students ages 10-14

Advanced Studio Production delves deeper into television and video production. Students will use KMVT 15's industry-standard professional studio and equipment to further their skills in screenwriting, storyboarding, lighting, field production and editing. By the end of the week, students create an entire production, which is broadcast on cable Channel 15! Students each receive a DVD copy of the program they produce. PLEASE NOTE: Cancellation Policy

If you cancel two weeks before camp, KMVT15 will withhold a $50.00 administrative fee. If cancellation occurs less than two weeks prior to the start of the camp, KMVT will retain the entire camp fee. Reservations for classes are not final until payment is secured. We reserve the right to cancel a session if enrollment is insufficient. In this instance, any fees paid will be refunded in full.

 

 

 

***AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS***


Youth Voices Header

Learn Video & Media at Graham Middle School with KMVT. This is an all year program open to any student wanting to learn video production. The program starts after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students will be responsible for coming to the training in order to utilize equipment. Learn to shoot sports and other school events. Be a camera operator, director or producer. Create video announcements for airing at the school and local TV. Learn to develop and storyboard you own productions.

***YOUTH TOURS....INTERESTED IN TELEVISION***

KMVT 15 offers tours to youth interested in learning more about TV and to Scout troops looking to earn their journalism or media badges.

Groups of no more that 20 at a time will get the chance to come in take a tour of the station and then will get a chance to get in front of the camera to create a public service announcement. The group will be given one DVD (more available upon request for a cost).
