Something for Everyone

KMVT's program schedule features programs produced by staff (known as "LO" or local origination) and Community Producers (access shows). Also on the schedule are programs produced by staff or producers at other access facilities ("Import" shows). Our programs range from a wide variety of topics and formats.

Community-Produced Programming

Community-produced shows are programs made by people in your community -- that could be you! Called "access shows", they make up about 70% of KMVT's programming. These shows cover a wide variety of subjects, including cooking, exercise, current events, political issues, and cultural programming. Learn more about volunteering to crew on an existing show or producing your own show, right here at KMVT!

Staff-Produced Programs

Staff-produced shows are programs that KMVT staff work on. These shows are crewed by volunteers.

  • Speak Out - A monthly show that invites anyone to come out and say what's on their mind. The show tapes the first Monday of the month and the following Tuesday and Wednesday. Airs Mondays at 6:00 PM and Wednesdays at 10:00 PM
  • Local Sports - KMVT covers local high school sports including baseball, football, women's volleyball, basketball and more. Catch local sports at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays or at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
  • Special Events - KMVT covers the Downtown Parade, the Art and Wine Festival, graduations and other community events.
  • Random Access! - This is the final project of the studio production workshop, produced by students and supervised by staff. It airs on the station Thursdays at 9:00 p.m.

Import Programs

Some of our programs come from other access stations around the area. These are called "import" programs. If an outside producer brings an import show to KMVT, we will cablecast as soon as the producer fills out the appropriate forms. Click here for more information.
