KMVT - Connecting the Community

NEWS - KMVT Volunteer of the Year 2007

KMVT Community Television honors Volunteer of the Year Tim Erskin at Celebration of Leaders 2007!

Tim Erskin first began volunteering at KMVT Community Television as an assistant producer to the studio access program, “Your 15 Minutes of Fame”.  Over the years, he has broadened his involvement as audio engineer, camera operator and editor.  An auto mechanic and independent audio/video contractor by trade, Tim offers invaluable technical skills to KMVT’s community productions, contributing hundreds of hours of volunteer service to the station.

Tim has dedicated much of his time to KMVT’s local high-school sports productions, the station’s premiere connection to the community.  KMVT relies almost exclusively on its volunteer crew to cover and air dozens of baseball, football, volleyball, basketball and soccer games each year. Not only does Tim volunteer his time to set up and film the games, he also has been known to lend his personal equipment to the mobile studio as well as repair the truck’s battery and replace connectors. Tim’s technical prowess has helped our sports broadcast to continue last year.

In addition, Tim offers his time and skills on productions such as the Los Altos graduation, Sunnyvale State of the City, as well as the studio access program, Stranger Music.

With Tim Erkin’s dedicated involvement in KMVT’s Local High School Sports productions, Studio Access Programs, community events and post-production projects, KMVT Community Television  is truly able to continue its mission to “connect our community”.
