Every year, KMVT offers summer internships that combine teaching and Media Production!  Studio Production Interns will learn the skills in television production through assisting our veteran instructor in our summer TV Studio Production Camp! Interns do not need to come with any prior knowledge of Studio Production.  You will learn it on the go!  However, interns who can demonstrate editing knowledge will be given greater consideration.

High School and College students are encouraged to apply!

Camps run from June 13th through August 19, 2011 from 10:00 – 4:00PM.  Interns must be available for a one-day training/set-up prior to camp start date.  Hours are 9:30AM – 4:00PM, with an extended late evening on Thursdays to complete student final DVDs before Friday.  Interns who can commit to the entire 10 weeks will be given greater consideration. All applicants are asked to commit a minimum of 5 weeks, 7-hours each day. All interns will receive a gas/travel stipend of $65/week. 

During the first week of a course, you will be in training mode. During the 2^nd and 3^rd weeks, you will act as a teaching assistant.  By the end of your studio production internship, you will be knowledgeable in how a studio show is put together, from operating the control room and studio, to editing the final video.

Your weekly schedule will look something like this:

Monday 9:30 - 4 – Assist with introductory exercises and activities. Students will be rotated through Control Room and Studio positions. 

Tuesday 9:30 - 4 – Assist instructor as students create mock game shows, news programs and talent shows. Students will hone their skills in studio production. Help with brainstorming of ideas.

Wednesday 9:30 - 4 - Assist instructor as students create mock game shows, news programs and talent shows. Help with brainstorming of ideas. Begin edit of students' final projects.

Thursday 9:30 - 6 - Assist instructor as students complete studio recordings. Edit together students’ final projects.

Friday  9:30 - 4 – Lead students in an alternate activity. Enjoy the final screening of student videos!
