Purpose:
- To serve as a voting member of Mountain View Community Television (KMVT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, with authority and responsibility to develop policies, procedures and regulations for the administration of KMVT; to promote the use of community television by individuals and organizations in Mountain View; and to raise funds for the continued development of KMVT.
Term:
- The term for each elected director shall be for three years.
Meeting:
- Regular monthly meetings. Special meetings as required.
Responsibilities & Powers:
- Establish policy for administering the channel and services provided.
- Secure funds for the current expenses and future development by active participation in resource development campaign.
- Monitor financial affairs in accordance with established policies and law.
- Promote Mountain View Community Television.
- Hiring of Executive Director to implement board policies.
Specific Duties:
- Attendance at meetings.
- Be well informed about Mountain View Community Television.
- Serve on committees of the board.
- Represent Mountain View Community Television at community events, with organizations and private individuals.
- Provide leadership in fund raising campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Must have a significant interest in the Mountain View Community.
- Prior experience as board member of nonprofit organization.
- Participates in community organizations.
- Experience in fund raising, community outreach, marketing, finance and/or law.
Compensation: Directors will receive no compensation.
