KMVT BOARD OF DIRECTORS JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose:

1. To serve as a voting member of Mountain View Community Television (KMVT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, with authority and responsibility to develop policies, procedures and regulations for the administration of KMVT; to promote the use of community television by individuals and organizations in Mountain View; and to raise funds for the continued development of KMVT.

Term:

1. The term for each elected director shall be for three years.

Meeting:

1. Regular monthly meetings. Special meetings as required.

Responsibilities & Powers:

1. Establish policy for administering the channel and services provided.
2. Secure funds for the current expenses and future development by active participation in resource development campaign.
3. Monitor financial affairs in accordance with established policies and law.
4. Promote Mountain View Community Television.
5. Hiring of Executive Director to implement board policies.

Specific Duties:

1. Attendance at meetings.
2. Be well informed about Mountain View Community Television.
3. Serve on committees of the board.
4. Represent Mountain View Community Television at community events, with organizations and private individuals.
5. Provide leadership in fund raising campaigns.

Qualifications:

1. Must have a significant interest in the Mountain View Community.
2. Prior experience as board member of nonprofit organization.
3. Participates in community organizations.
4. Experience in fund raising, community outreach, marketing, finance and/or law.

Compensation: Directors will receive no compensation.
