Come by to give your opinion on an issue of your choice!

Do you have an opinion you'd like to voice on an election season issue? KMVT field reporters will be on the streets in front of Mountain View City Hall to gather your opinions on topics that will be on the ballot this election season, ranging from renewable energy and public transportation to abortion and confinement of farm animals. Come by! We'll be out during these times:

Our field reporter will ask which issue you're interested in, and conduct a quick (3 minutes or less) on your topic of choice. The public's opinions will be aired along with election programming this season.

Below are just some of the State propositions or Local Measures you might want to respond to:

  • Measure B: BART Extension
    • Should we increase sales tax by 1/8 cent to Extend BART to Milpitas, San Jose, Santa Clara, and other towns?
  • Proposition 8: Eliminates Right of Same-sex Couples to Marry
    • Shall the California Constitution be changed to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry providing that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California?
  • Proposition 7: Renewable Energy Generation.
    • Shall government-owned utilities be required to generate 20% of their electricity from renewable energy by 2010, a standard currently applicable to private electrical corporations? Shall all utilities be required to generate 40% by 2020 and 50% by 2025?
  • Proposition 2: Standards for Confining Farm Animals
    • Shall certain farm animals be allowed, for the majority of every day, to fully extend their limbs or wings, lie down, stand up and turn around?
